You asking them for advice, so you can be ready when you open your own microbrewery? A solid plan indeed. Whatever you endeavor to do, may Dionysis aid and guide you.

actually, i was planning on asking them if theyve ever considered brewing beer as well. i know the winery sells distributed tap beers such as bud, bud lite, and miller lite because they host a variety of gatherings from business meetings to wedding receptions and parties. but i am planning on asking them if they want to go solo so to speak. cut out the need for a distributor for their beer products. and hire a brew master who can make everything on site. of course, i still have my own plans for starting my own brewery that i will make them fully aware of, but it will be more of the old fashioned "you help me, ill help you" kind of thing in the long run.

you know, like this:

they have the alcohol licenses already, they make and sell wine. they dont have the knowledge for beer brewing, which is more complex. and i have that knowledge, obviously. they are going through a distributor at the moment for the beer aspect for said events. having a guy on site who not only has the knowledge, but also loves to brew beer, will cut out the distributor part. in doing so, both the winery and myself will be promoting locally made products. which any self respecting person admires. wineries attract wine drinkers, breweries attract beer drinkers. therefor, IF they go for my idea, they will be attracting both. which of course will bring in more money. plus i will even go as far as making a deal with them that once ive made enough money to establish my brewery and go solo, i will pay them homage and serve their wine at their price and even provide them with kegged beer for 2/3 to 1/2 the cost. which at first sounds like im paying the costs, but when the beer drinkers come to my establishment and start shelling out the cash, itll more than cover the cost differential.

Putting yourself on the market is a good idea. Put everything you have to offer on their table. I know you will do fine. If they don't take you up on your offer, they are a bunch of damned fools. Many blessings, and much luck, to you. Hope everything works out the way you want.
