| I finally got my bat house hung in the back yard (I only got it a couple years ago ). I hope it attracts bats soon, 'cuz the skeeters are already bad, and I like to sit on the deck and watch the fireflies in the evening. | |

| yep! just googled em! i am soooooo gonna have to build one now!! but then again, i love bats anyway. ive caught several of them bare handed over the years and even had a pet bat in my room growing up on the farm! the most recent one ive caught was at the winery a couple weekends ago cause it flew into the building while someone was walking in. | |

| A bat in a winery... I'm tryin' to imagine the lil radar sound comin' out slurred... It was a gift, so I don't know for sure where it came from, but I betcha most places with garden centers sell 'em, right along with the purple martin houses. Mine's red cedar, and smells sooooooo good. Looks like a birdhouse on the outside, but entrance is only from the bottom, and there area couple panels inside covered in fine mesh for the lil creatures to grip onto. | |

| I don't care what anyone says. Bats are cute! They are wonderful at keeping the insect populus to a bare minimum. Having some around would definately be a boon. | |

| Couple of years ago a bat got into the apartment we were renting at that time. We caught it in a tupperware container (was the only container that was handy) as it slept on the kitchen fan, and turned it loose outside. S/he wasn't happy. Bat squeaking is a very odd pitch that kind of but doesn't quite hurt your ears. Was cute, though. The cats wanted to chase him about, but we didn't let them, as that was when a "THE BATS HAVE RABIES" scare was running rampant, because a couple had tested positive. | |

| yeah, the "bats have rabbies" was a funny one! especially after scientists found out bats have the abilitiy to nutralize and become immune to rabbies. lol those people who got rabbies prolly got it from their own pets or possibly skeeters since skeeters can carry all sorts of viruses. | |

| Have you seen bats yet? My neighbors to the west have an abandoned tree house, that bats have made into a bat house. I was worried when the tree guy was out, trimming limbs on that tree what would happen. Lot of noise for them. Have not seen or heard a peep since .. still wondering .. t | |

| Not yet. Actually sat out this evening to watch, but it was chilly enough that we weren't even bothered by skeeters. | |
