*Sigh* What we thought was a relatively small section of tree is a great HUGE section of tree -- as in 50 - 80 feet -- on the Guest House roof. And the house is uninsured.
Today is so wonderful I can't stand it...

The Guest House got nailed by the storms! Should I be saving my pennies for a motel in town when I come up in September? That must have been one hell of a storm. The trees around the house are old and well rooted. Oh my! Hope it's not going to cost you all your arms and legs. *WHISTLES!* Day-um!

The roof looks intact so far but we won't know for sure until we can get the tree off of the roof. It was the big locust tree right next to the back porch. It was rotten down the middle and split right down to the ground. There will be pictures as soon as we get them downloaded and into photobucket.

The REMC got the wire free of the tree then Skywise went to work on it. Which is where we were from the time of my last post until 4 pm. He cut and shoved it off the roof and I pulled away what I could. We have most of it off the roof and it appears undamaged. Thank the Gods! The only fly in the ointment is the presence of a small, scared young raccoon in the piece of tree remaining on the roof! Eek!

We've stopped work for the night and Skywise is headed for the city. We're hoping that once it's quiet and dark, the little guy will come out of hiding and climb down off the roof. The trunk is still resting against the side of the house so it will be easy for him/her to find the way down once it gets over being scared.We "think" that we may be able to get the rest of it off of the house without needing a tree service. Some guttering is going to need to be replaced and a couple of things on the porch roof need fixing but other than that, there is no obvious damage to the Guest House.

gotta love those tree falling on houses eh? gods, if one of the big ass maple trees in my yard falls on my house itll prolly collapse the house. ye know, since the roof, walls, and foundation is shot and all....

got most of the paperwork filled out. still gotta find a few more things or call around to get the info sent to me. talk about a headache.
just finished watching the movie "from hell" again. ya know, he coulda came up with tons of excuses to leave london to go be with the hot chick that the people watching him would never suspect.
and i watched the kevin smith film "chasing amy" tonight too.
ye know, love is so fucked up. its gotta be one of the worst, most pathetic emotions a human has.

The tree is off the roof! Woot!

We will NOT need a tree service. And we are damned lucky. The tree didn't break off at the bottom of the split and it was still supporting the part that fell. When Skywise got enough of it cut off, it sprang up about an inch from the roof. We also think that it came down slowly. If it had come down fast and hard, it would have caved the roof in and we'd probably would have had to take out a mortgage on the house to fix it which is JUST want we don't need right now!
Also, there was no sign of the little raccoon this morning so we figure that the little one made his/her escape sometime during the night. Another Woot!

i really hate summer time. its BS that it starts getting light out around 4 or 4:30am and it doesnt get totally dark til like 9:30pm.
i need to get rich so i can move way up north during the summers.

omm....

k, well, we did end up getting some storms last night. nothing too major. but it was enough to knock out the internet for a while. which has happened countless times. of course, ive had a few times where the internet was knocked out that i somehow managed to get online and this could be one of them. nevertheless, its working at the moment. very very slowly, but its working.
anyway, i watched a couple movies over the night. 2 i havent seen before, "the marine" and "troy. both good movies. not great, but ok.
well, its the weekend, not sure if the internet is up up, or if this is one of those moments where the wires might be making a connection in the wind and if ill have to wait til the ISP maintenance gets it all sorted.
anyway, if its a serious problem, ill call either SpokenVows or 1111 and have one of them update everyone.
and stuff....... (if this even gets through)

ANOTHER MIRACLE!!! The Vatican has officially endorsed "The Blues Brothers" motion picture. They cited the fact that Jake and Elwwod were on a mission from God. this is gonna be a long day.
this stupid wireless router thingy that RD bought is about fucked up. it only works for her laptop if theres an unnecessary cable going from the wireless router back to the main router which causes the internet for my computer not to work.
need to take a shower.
lay back down and attempt to sleep since i gotta be up all day.
but i dont see me going back to sleep.
and stuff......

We have the opposite problem with our wireless router. I can't get my laptop to see it for nothing, though it has to be something with my computer since others are able to use it just fine >_>
