wrote up a new recipe for brew last night that im gonna try to make depending on what all friar tuck's has available.
Blakus is gonna try to make my dark maple cream ale with one ingredient chance so i wrote up his recipe.
gotta take a shower here in a few.
call JT to see if he still wants to ride along.
and stuff.....

amazing how calming the pool can be. even with a half dozen kids splashing all over the place
might be because it's the only time i actually can become like a kid, the other adults always seem so much more serious compared to me when swimming...

Good eventide all! Sitalique, you have no choice but to age, but you don't have to grow old. It's perfectly okay to allow your inner child out to play. Just remember, if you get out a toy, put it back when you're done playing with it.

Just remembered that Smokey should be a year old sometime this month. Hard to believe it's been that long.
Only a month left of school. Then it's try and not go crazy while preventing the boy from looking like a lobster all summer. he's one of the unfortunates that just go from pale to burned and doesn't tan
Wishing my knee would fix itself already. Blasted thing has never taken this long to get over popping out before, though this last time was a bit more painful than usual.

It appears Rudy is a bad influence on me and I have been in one of my very rare beer moods lately.

So I bought a few European ales and beers. Yesterday tried the stuff from Russia, and didn't realize the alcohol content was higher than I'm accustomed to on the few occasions I've had beer (and larger than average bottle), so followed it down with a shot of vodka. Don't normally have much alcohol, so provided it doesn't put me to sleep first, I get drunk fairly easily. I decided to check the label on the beer about the time I noticed my coordination being off (I usually don't get that drunk).

Managed to avoid a hangover, somehow (Drank about five cups of water before bed, and kept a large bottle oh water by my bed which was gone by morning).

However, oddly, I'm ravenously hungry today, though I did have a decent supper last night... I woke up at 1:30 AM starving, stuffed myself on rice chips (I do NOT normally have midnight snacks), ate a decent breakfast (usually just a quick snack) and a larger than normal lunch, and still feel like I could eat more.

BTW, the Russian beer was decent, a bit on the bitter side, the finish was yeasty (which I liked).

The Czech beer from the previous day was decent, too. Was sweeter than I'm accustomed to with beer, which wasn't a bad thing. The sediment that came out on top of the foam was extremely bitter, though...

Now I have a Belgian ale and a German one to try later this week.

With all this damned rain I am surprised the fish aren't jumping out of the water because it's too wet. Just grab yourselves a couple of nets, and pull them in.

of course, all these damn gnats are really pissing me off.... i even have a flying insect head netting thingy that my mom bought for me to try and that didnt even help. looks like panty hose are the only thing that might work.

my brother is coming home from southern IN this weekend for a surprise visit to mom for mothers day.
so hes coming over friday evening and me and Blakus are gonna brew again with him here. its been like 6 years since we've all been together to brew.
havent heard from NS in several weeks. im guessing shes busy.
and stuff......

Going to Kentucky to spend Mothers Day with Mom and my brother. May have to help clear out the basement. Got flooded. YAY!

no more fishing til the sun is down. the gnats were overly vicious apparently.
its amazing how those little bastards can manage to bite through my skin with as tough as it is. even the cats have to use quite a bit of force to cut me.
sposta go grocery shopping with RD when she gets off work today.

So I'm assuming that you're referring to the little black gnats that smell bad when you squish them, rather than the ones with whiteish translucent wings tat are swarming around my place?

Haven't seen any sign of the black ones yet, thank goodness, but the white ones like to fly up my nose.

aye, the little black bastards, look just like miniature flies. theyre HORRIBLE down here. some farmers have even had a few animals like chickens, rabbits, and other such smaller type farm animals killed by them. and nothing seems to work to keep em away. some people say vanilla works, but i tried it, doesnt work! theres an insect repellant called "buggins" thats sposta work, but its like $6 or $7 for a tiny little bottle.

Tea Tree oil might work if you can find a cheap source . It worked for a while in keeping the ants away, and I've seen it recommended for the Asian beetles to keep them off plants, have yet to try that.

And as far as tea tree oil is concerned, what looks like just a little in a tiny bottle is actually quite a bit (if it's pure and not diluted in another type of oil). When it still worked on the ants, five drops to a jug of water was sufficient to kill them within 30-45 seconds.

that buggin spray is sposta be made up of rose oil, mint oil, and i cant remember what all else but its sposta put out a strong menthol odor. supposedly its the only thing that kinda works. using regular insect repellent just attracts the little fuckers! found that out last night... and even cigarette smoke doesnt work on these bastards. and that used to be me and JT's #1 way to repel any insects while fishing.

damn... what triggered that? ive only been awake for 2.5 hours and am in a heavy drinking lets get violent mood.
