| id rather sue the morons who put buisness listings on the internet. theyre the ones who are 6 or 7 years behind schedule. lol the store itself doesnt even have a website and they changed their buisness name years ago and took out the part of the title about home brew. | |

thats actuallya pretty good idea for a name!! and its giving me an idea for the next time i brew too! since the last maple ale i brewed took a while to start tasting good, i think im gonna brew another one with a better maple syrup and other stuff to kick up the alcohol content and use that name cept adding ale to the end of it as "Maple Mayhem Ale" and for short, it can be called "MMA" since itll be strong enough to kick some ass!

| Well, Gods forbid that people's precious little angels should get their hands on the "devil's brew" without stealing it from their parents! Never mind that European kids learn to drink at the dinner table. The kids get diluted wine that is made stronger as they get older. By the time they are adults, they know how to handle it. Europe doesn't have nearly the problems with alcohol that we do. We won't even discuss what happens when the 18 year olds hit college and they can go to private parties where beer is available and no one checks their ID at the door. | |

| k, the brewing last night went well. of course it smelled like i was brewing strong coffee most of the time til i added in 2 more ingredients towards the end. the OG reading indicates that this brew has the potential to be 9.9% ABV. more than likely, itll turn out to be around 8.9% ABV when its all said and done. i was hoping the color would turn out to be a dark amber color but i have the feeling its gonna look more like guinness in the end. but im hoping!
oh, and i should be brewing again tomorrow evening or possibly saturday evening using the same exact ingredients so hopefully both batches will turn out identical therefore confirming my consistancy.

| wasnt able to get the same exact hops for Blakus' 2nd batch of beer cause they didnt have the ones i needed but i got some that were close to the AA%. i just hope they turn out similar cause so far, his consistancy on making doubles hasnt been consistant. decided my next batch of beer is going to be on the simple side this time as my last several batches have been more complicated and have all turned out phenominal. i think one of my batches is about done fermenting but im gonna give it a few more days just to make sure. | |

| cultivating hops isnt too hard. growing them on the other hand... as my brother found out... they are extremily picky to grow. i think all 5 of his hops plants died. now if he woulda grew them out at his house, they prolly woulda been spectacular. he was gonna get me some hops plants to plant but my yard is so shadey during the summer they more than likely wouldnt survive. unless i rid myself of about 20 of the 35+ trees i have growing here. | |

| k, so my last brew has turned out a bit on the sweet side. more than likely one of the brews thats gonna have to sit for a couple months til the yeast finishes up eating the sugars. but its good nonetheless. its damn near fully carbonated even only sitting a week. of course, this is the first batch of my last two identical brews that were brewed several days appart.
im looking forward to brewing again as i have all the ingredients. im just missing the water.

| i vaguely remember this most recent time i brewed. but if i remember correctly, it smelled awesome. and the OG was 1.076 so it has the potential of being 10% ABV. but more than likely itll end up around 9%. | |

| You were waxing unusually eloquently about the whole experience. Something about brewing being a very "witchy" experience. Fortunately, you did not compare it to sex (in general or specifically) which would have been WAY TMI!!!

Since I'm a woman of discretion I'm NOT gonna go there! It would be far, FAR beyond TMI! Interesting topic but still.... TMI.Post #3234
