On this day in 1314, Jacques de molay, the Grand Master of The Knights Templar, was burned at the stake on trumped up charges laid upon him by King Phillip of France. As Grand Master de Moley burned he called out from the wall of flames that within one year he would return to claim His Majesty and The Pope who had bought Phillips sob story. Before one year was out, both The Pope and King Phillip had gone to meet their maker. The Grand Master made good on his threat. During The French Revolution, the King of France was beheaded. An onlooker in the crowd climbed onto the scaffolding, ran his fingers in the royal blood and exclaimed, "Jacques de Molay has been avenged." May Grand Master de Molay rest in peace.
