Before completely geeking out on wrestling here, who is a fan? WWE? TNA? Old skool (what era)?

i liked the old school wrestling before they turned it into days of our lives with body slams.

but in the last few years, ive grown quite fond of UFC/MMA fighting. Woot!

I've been a fan of wrestling since the 80's, I got into UFC early on, back with Shamrock and the Gracie's, but haven't watched it in years.

oh yeah! i miss the 80s wrestling!! a whole 5 seconds of trash talking and you could watch like 10 matches in the time it was on TV!

but now.... 5 minute intro to the show, commercial, 5 minutes of trash talking by each wrestler, commercial, locker room interviews, commercial, ring entrance, commercial, 2 minute matches, repeat. and like a grand total of what? 4 or 5 fights per episode? lol

True, but at the same time it is just an amped up version of what it was, I blame Hulk Hogan for the change from wrestling to talk

aye! he did an awful lot of talking even back then! but i guess he did make the sport popular.
my favs had to be roudy roddy pipper and jake the snake roberts from the old days though. Thumbs Up

Going back I think Piper and Macho Man were my two favorite old school, then Mr Perfect and Shawn Michaels...oh and Brutus Beefcake

and of course hacksaw jim duggen(sp).

what was "the animal's" name? the big bald headed guy who would rip the corners stuffings out of the ring with his mouth?

George "the animal" Steele, he rocked too...before wrestling he used to be a teacher

I'm going to regret posting this...
Back in the late 70's to '81 I was a bartender (part time) the Charlotte Coliseum was across the street. For you youngun's this was in the day of ACC wrestling. On Sundays, after the matches, the wrestlers used to come over for a beer.
It was...
interesting.

And I will add that I am not a fan.
