I don't think you can sell that legally in any state except Nevada.

I'll pass, thanks.

Much although I've never been a big fan of shrimp, in your case, I could make an exception.

Don't make me get out "Forrst Gump". I love shrimp. Anyway I can get them. Only thing I don't like is the cocktail sauce.

Cocktail sauce might have something to do with my aversion as well. I also dimly remember being about 7 or 8 and watching shrimp being de-veiled which probably grossed me out.

i love shrimp and cocktail sauce!
of course, i have had a few cocktail sauces that werent all that good.

i just hate how expensive shrimp is up here. go down the gulf coast they practically give it away, to get it here in IL costs like $10 for the little tray with like 12 shrimp on it and like $20 for the medium size tray.

*shakes head* I dislike shrimp. Of course, that has something to do with my general aversion when it comes to fish and other sea creatures. Don't eat them at all.

Get them frozen (but cooked) and you can get a package of between 20-40 for about $7-$9 at Kroger.

Still pricey but not as bad.

I don't know how they'd taste simply thawed out through (I use them in stir fry) and they are mostly smaller than the ones in the plastic trays.

I was surprised at how cheap sushi rolls were in Phoenix AZ as compared to here. You could get a tray of 6 rolls for $2, where here it costs around $6-$7. I know Phoenix is a much bigger city, but it's still far enough inland that you'd expect the prices to be higher there than they are.

Crawdads are pretty close to shrimp in flavor.... got any clean bodies of water closer than the grocery stores? Eat

Actually, I'd be too lazy to prepare them myself except as survival food.

Here you go!

http://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Jumbo-Shrimp-1-Pound/dp/B0000SX9U0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=gourmet-food&qid=1269461071&sr=8-5

Of course, if I understand the shipping right, for 1 lb of shrimp, it would end up being $22 more.

So...around $40 to have a lb of shrimp delivered right to your door. Laughing

Depends on how high gas prices skyrocket, but then I suppose shipping would go up as well. Laughing

I suppose you could always invest in a few packets of sea monkeys and start breeding them for size...

yes it is! i even tried to win the lotto the other day but failed. now if the 4 matching numbers that i got were all on the same line, i coulda got like 150K or something like that. but nooooOOOoooooooooo..... lol

well, the batches of beer are about done fermenting. today will make 7 days since they were put into fermentation. but since Blakus's last batch has been kinda exploding every time we open em, we're gonna wait til sunday or so to bottle these batches. i think what happened with Blake's last batch was that we bottled it before it was finished fermenting so the remaining yeast was still over-active. sp we're gonna make for sure it doesnt happen again.

on a brighter note, these 2 new batches should come out as damn near lagers instead of ales due to the temperature of room being cooler than usual during the fermentation. now if my downstairs fridge was working (cause i think its broked now), we could bottle the beer and condition it in the fridge to fully make it a lager. i spose i could always check my other downstair fridge to see if it will still work, i havent used it in years.

PostSubject: Re: Brewing Beer   Mon Mar 29, 2010 2:22 pm

ok. well, the 3rd fridge seems to be working properly. so i just put Blakus' exploding batch of beer into the fridge to help kill down the yeast activity. i did find 2 more completely shattered bottles in the bottom case. so all in all, hes completely lost 4 bottles of beer. and with the way they've been exploding when we open them, we've only been able to get maybe a 1/2 pint worth from each bottle. which sucks.

so today we will be bottling our latest batches. hopefully 10 days of fermenting has been long enough and the yeast has died down enough that these batches wont explode.
