oh, we've had a few little pissers of rain and a couple baby storms. nothing to brag about. my particular location isnt very well liked by storms and naders. i could move 10 minutes in any direction and it would be a different story.

i think theyre just scared of this location. its up on a hill, woodlands everywhere, and we're up on the bluff above the illinois river valley. storms usually go north or south of us and naders usually jump over us.

Might want to consider acquiring a boat for emergency purposes Penth. Nothing manifested last night depite the Severe Thunderstorm Watch that had been issued. We may get some storms late tonight. If it doesn't rain, it will be the second day we haven't had any rain. That will be nice. Wednesday is being watched rather closely. The meteorologists arounf here think we are in for another round of some seriously bad weather. If I didn't make it on that evening, you all will know why. Be safe everyone!

I've thought about it, believe me. You know the lay of the land around here. If we get flooding here that is bad enough to require evacuation, there won't be any place to go....

its been pretty wild here over night and this morning.
my internet was down part of the day yesterday.
pretty nasty storms over night.
around 8am while RD was getting ready for work and i was trying to get online it started hailing and BAM! lightning struck my neighbors tree about 20 feet from my house. RD was closer to it than i was and her ears were ringing all the way into work.
its darkened back up here in the last 5 minutes so im sure we're about to get hammered again.

also, theres a decent sized branch just berely hanging on to one of my big ass maple trees in the back yard too.

the shred of bark that the lightning off of my neighbors tree is exactly 6 feet long and about a 10 inched wide. i just tossed it onto my neighbors burn pile.

well, lightning storm #3 of the day has pretty much passed i think. still hearing some distant thunder though. gonna have to drain my basement again here in a while. talked to my neighbor lady and apparently the strike that hit the tree also nailed their small TV. thinking about checking the radar to see whats coming next.

It's clouding up now and according to the radar, the eastern edge of the storm has moved into Indiana. It's showing up as mostly yellow now but the afternoon is young and the sun won't set here until 9:15 edt. Plenty of time for things to fire up again. Oh joy....

Not surprising. The radar indicates nothing behind the blob that just moved through there. Of course, it's hours to sunset there so it could get lively there again later.
