Today's Spirit's birthday so we'll be munching on chocolate cake all day! And, as usual on Monday nights, pizzas for dinner. I'm taking it easy today 'cause tomorrow I'll be getting ready and on Wednesday, the "Cookathon!" will begin! Whatcha doin? - Page 37 1

TRYING to do some writing while doing laundry and breaking up territorial cat fights. The boycats don't dispute much but the War Queen takes her position VERY seriously and acts accordingly.
What else can I expect from a large, prideful cat born under the sign of Aries?

Emmy and Tom dont even like it when Fosser is trying to play! of course, as big as he is, his idea of playing usually equals loads of pain!

im waiting on some of my home brew to get chilled. i forgot to put some in the fridge earlier while i drank the other two.

Fortunately, the SunLord and the War Queen are about of a size but the Prince of Midnight is about half their sizes. I usually don't worry when the boys are tussling because I know they love each other and I only step in if tempers are starting to flare. The War Queen has been unusually cranky as the Prince has gotten older and while I think she might be mellowing a bit, I keep an eye on them. The Prince is getting bolder and he has been sneaking up on her and poking her with his paw while she's sleeping and then ducking out of sight. I hope they managed to come to some sort of agreement or it's gonna be a long winter.

lets see, what am i doing? im trying to come up with a design for a bottle drying thingy. one idea is to raid junk yards or whatever and take the racks for dishwarshers and use them. but i want something more original, like my bottling table that i designed and built. i guess im just gonna have to drink about some more til i figure it out.

We're back from town. We needed to pick up a few last minute things for dinner Thursday.

Got a new Barbie Collector catalog in the mail. [Yes, I'm a selective collector of Barbie dolls. I also do "makeovers" when inspiration hits.] Thinking seriously about getting the "Edward" from Twilight doll. The doll has a new head mold --- so it actually looks like the actor playing the part -- and a new body sculpt too which is what interests me. It has been a long time since "Ken" got a makeover and lets face it, he lacks in the buffness department. [Max Steel had him beat ALL to hell!] So I'm hoping that if the Edward body sculpt is popular with collectors and the One Of A Kind makeover hobbyists, it will be used for the "play line." If so, there may be "head transplants" in my future -- of the 1/6 scale plastic variety, of course!

Home from work. Figuring out how I'm going to "kill" my kid after I found out something at work today that she did at the laudrymat. Gotta do dishes again. Going to try and hook up dvd player to tv today and see if I can get it to work.

Life in a small town. A kid can't get away with anything. I should know. I grew up in a very small town. I didn't get in any trouble but plenty of kids I knew got "busted." It was enough to make a body paranoid.

At present, I'm drinking tea and designing a giant, probably (but not definitely, it's SO overdone) carnivorous plant that produces a highly sought after substance used in the manufacture of a potentially deadly illegal drug. I also need a name for the damned thing plus two or three "folk" names.
That's the thing about writing science fiction/fantasy. You frequently have to write your own "research" materials! Laughing

Which is what I'm doing right now. I need a reason to send my cast running all over the continent and the reason has to be serious enough to warrant their direct involvement with very dire consequences if they fail.
I think I have it, just have to fine tune it.
Back to work. Still need to describe the thing and figure out what to call it!

OK, so you didn't ask for help, but here's an idea:
The plant isn't giant, nor is it carnivorous, but the drug can only be harvested from the spores that the plant produces. The plant grows like carpet, and the spores come in poofballs that are very fragile. If a poofball bursts, and you inhale the spores, death is almost instant, and the plant grows over your rotting corpse, using it as food/fertilizer.

I ended up with a "cross" between multi flora roses and a honeysuckle bush, both of which I'm very familiar with. The plant isn't carnivorous like a Venus flytrap but more along like what you came up with. [Great minds...] And it kills by chemically inducing orgasm until the victim dies of heart failure. THEN it absorbs the body as it decays...

Which makes it perfect for the highly addictive and potentially fatal drug I need for Book 3.
